Neurodiversity as a term recognises the natural variation in how human’s brains work. The term neurodivergent refers to a person with unique differences in how their brain works and how they experience and interact with the world. Sharon Atkins is our Psychologist, Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner and the founder of Respectful Disability Care. She has over three decades of experience and is passionate about delivering innovative and effective support, particularly for children and those with complex care needs.
Ella Teague is our Provisional Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. Her completion of her Thesis highlighting the vulnerability of neurodiverse individuals in CJS processes ignited her desire to deliver neuro-affirming psychological support. She is committed to ongoing professional development to further her knowledge and competence in adapting treatment to suit the strengths and needs of her neurodiverse clients.
Rebekah Atkins is our Support Coordinator and Support Worker dedicated to supporting her clients to achieve daily living goals and enhance their quality of life. Rebekah’s role involves organising and managing resources and disability support services for her clients, ensuring that individuals have access to necessary services and advocating for their needs.
Celeste Hatchman is our Registered Nurse and Behaviour Support Practitioner committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to her clients. With her strong skills in nursing and behaviour analysis, Celeste assesses patients’ physical and emotional needs, develops tailored care plans, and implements effective strategies to support individuals with diverse behavioural challenges.
James Atkins is our Allied Health Assistant committed to enhancing the overall experience for his child clients. James aids in facilitating treatment plans with a focus on collaboration, communication and compassion utilising the latest technologies.
Jayde Smith is our Receptionist committed to providing exceptional customer service and administrative support and creating a positive first impression for our clients. Diligent and organized, Jayde excels in managing phone communications, scheduling appointments, and coordinating office activities with a warm, friendly demeanour.

Her experience includes pivotal roles in high-profile projects like the Royal Commission: Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, 1800Respect, and BeyondBlue. She has also contributed to health projects in Zambia and Ethiopia, bringing a global perspective to her practice. Sharon is a registered NDIS Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner, offering comprehensive Behaviour Support, Therapies, and Training.
Beyond her work on government and private projects, Sharon’s recent focus has been on combining technology with therapeutic interventions, such as VR and immersive therapies, through the Merry Burrow Interactive Therapy Centre. This centre was created to support participants with Neurodevelopmental Delays, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), and other complex presentations. As part of the Rare Chromosomal International Group, Unique, Sharon continues her commitment to delivering world-class care for those who need it most.
